Five Questions That Can Make A Huge Difference

Most people like being in their comfort zone. They’re not willing to put up with short-term sacrifices for long-term benefits. The avoidance of short-term pain is more motivating than the desire for long-term pleasure and benefits. That’s why so many people struggle with exercising, weight loss, and trying to stop smoking.

But when the day is over, what keeps many CEOs, business owners, and serious entrepreneurs from moving forward is the fact that they seldom STOP, take the time to slow down, reflect, and ask, “What’s working and what’s not working in my business, and WHY?” Stopping can be painful.

As a result, they are constantly putting out fires. It’s an overused metaphor, but the truth is they are so blinded by being in the forest, that they don’t see the trees. They wander around, spending their time on low-priority tasks instead of focusing on the high value activities that will drive their business forward.

Today, make the time to stop for 30 minutes, and do a quick assessment of your business.

Ask yourself these 5 Questions.

What’s not working as well as you would like? What could you change right now, that would have an immediate positive impact on your revenue, profitability, or brand? Which one of your direct reports should you sit down and talk with “formally” to improve their performance? Which one of your strategic partners is not living up to their end of the partnership agreement? What expense line can you take a “deep dive” into to improve your bottom-line?….and the list goes on. Stop…and make today the day that really makes a difference in your business!

As always, have a great week.
