UnSTUCK TODAY – Don’t Hit Send…Yet!

This week I made a Big Mistake…maybe one we can both learn from.

Last week I sent an email to a few clients. It included a suggestion that I thought would help to improve their daily effectiveness. I sent the basic concept piece and instructions to my virtual assistant (who has always produced error-free work).

I received it back from my virtual assistant, and then sent it out. While a number of clients responded very favorably to the suggestion, one client informed me that there was a glaring error…and they were right!

The mistake?

I didn’t take the time to proof carefully what I received back from my virtual assistant before hitting the SEND KEY.

Disastrous, no (but could have been). Embarrassing, yes!

We have all fallen prey to the seduction of email and the SEND KEY.

How many times have you composed an email in 15-30 seconds and hit SEND! If you’re like me, a whole lot of times.

Going forward, I will take a little more time to proof all my outgoing emails before hitting the SEND KEY. It seems like a good new habit to embrace. You should consider it too!
